19 May 18 (Sat)

Host: Stand Up Australia
Description: The next Protest Ride is in about 5 weeks on the 19 May. We look forward to having as many bikes as possible on this ride to protest against the oppressive tactics of the NSW Police against the motorcycle community broadly under what is simply State Sanctioned Thuggery, unethical and beneath the principles of law – you are innocent until proven guilty and no single sub-culture should be singled out under the law as they have done for harassment and intimidation.
The ride will leave from the Greenbank RSL car-park and be heading once again to Woodenbong and then a circuit back to Queensland. If you are unsure about your bikes AIS compliance we can advise you on the day.
As a veteran who re-inlisted with the Army at 42 years of age and served in Iraq in 2007 I am ashamed of what I see as politicians out-of-touch with mainstream Australia, and a police force that supports a culture of “I can do whatever I want to do and there’s nothing you can do about it”. I’m paraphrasing from one of the Raptor officers who physically assault another rider on the March 3rd Good As Gold Charity Ride.
If all the media attention of unlawful violence instigated by the police, purgery, and other abuses under the law haven’t convinced you. Consider this. If we fail to get the attention of the Justice Minister to conduct a full ministerial inquiry into the excesses of the Victorian, NSW and possibly QLD police then the situation will only get worse and the next time a police officer comes knocking on your door, “just a welfare check, please step outside”, who do think you can call?
So let’s Stand Together or get picked on one by one along the road. Hope to see you there. Keep upright and keep smiling.
We will have t-shirts, stickers and ride patches available for sale with proceeds going to fund the legal challenge to the actions of the NSW Commissioner of Police.
Disclaimer: We do NOT advocate disrepsect being given to any police officer who is simply doing his job under the law. Respect given, is respect earned. But we do advocate standing up for your lawful rights under the Crown (we are still a country subject of the crown, and our government is still answerable to the Queen – just ask Goff Whitlam about it). We still have the original rights under the Magna Carta c1215. Lord Denning of the UK describing it as “the greatest constitutional document of all times – the foundation of the freedom of the individual against the arbitrary authority of the despot”
